Shri Deepesh Gehlot is a 2010 batch Indian Supply Service (ISS) officer from Jalore Rajasthan belongs to Mali (Saini). He is a Gold Medalist with B.Tech Mechanical Engineering from Government College CTAE, Udaipur (Rajasthan) in 2005 and M.Tech in Thermal Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) {Now Delhi Technical University (DTU)}, Delhi. He has completed initial school education i.e. class I to VIII from Government school Rajendra nagar colony, Jalore & IX-XII from Government higher secondary school Jalore with Hindi Medium (X in Year 1998 & XII in 2000).
His first posting was as Scientist-C at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Thumba, Trivandrum, Kerala during 2006-2009. He was part of team for development of Moon Impact Probe(MIP) for Chandrayan-I Mission in 2008, PSLV, GSLV missions.
He then joined Group A Central Services i.e. Indian Supply Service (ISS) recruited through Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Delhi in 2010 with All India Rank 36 & served as Assistant Director/Deputy Director in various divisions of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India till 2017.
He was on Central deputation to Government e-marketplace (GeM) as Director under Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India during 2017-2021. He was a key founding member of GeM and involved in development of GeM an online end to end e-procurement portal. He worked in different capacity as Director administration, policy, 87 MoUs with state Government, PSB/PSUs, Nodal Officer for Standing Committee on GeM for various Central ministries/states etc.
He then joined Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India as Deputy Secretary Grade in administration & Nodal officer for Vanijya Bhawan,Delhi in 2022.
He was selected among 100 Young All India Service/Central Service Officers who were deputed by DoPT to G20 Secretariat, Ministry of External affairs, Government of India for conduct of G20 Leader’s Summit at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi from 9th-10th September 2023.
He has received appreciation letter from Chief of Protocol for G20 Summit 2023, Ministry of External affairs, Government of India regarding contribution, dedication and hard work put in for preparation and successful conduct of G20 Leaders summit. Later on, a Thank You event/interaction by Hon’ble Prime Minister was held at Bharat Mandapam on 22nd September, 2023 to felicitate the officers who were involved in the successful execution of the G20 Summit. I was honored to be one of these officers.
He served as Deputy Secretary Grade at Trade promotion division, Department of Commerce Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India from 2022-24 & supervised India Pavilion at World Expo, Osaka 2025 Japan ,development of world class infrastructure- Bharat Mandapam , MICE (Meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions) etc.
He was nominated as nodal officer for World Expo Osaka Japan 2025 from Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India and among officers who were overall responsible for preparedness and showcasing India Pavilion at World Expo, Osaka 2025 Japan.
Visited World Expo 2025, Osaka Japan as Member of Indian delegation from Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India to represent India and attended International Participants Meeting (IPM) held on 25 – 27, June 2024 at Nara, Japan. Facilitate Japanese delegation led by Vice-Governor, Osaka and meeting with Hon’ble Minister of State (MoS), Commerce & Industry on 19.07.2024 for India-Japan Cooperation in trade & commerce.
He has supervised various High level Inter-ministerial meetings under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Commerce & Industry Minister/Commerce Secretary with stakeholders i.e. Ministry of External affairs, Embassy of India Japan, Japan Government, Expo authority Japan & various central ministries regarding preparedness for Osaka Expo 2025.
He was selected for Central deputation under CSS (Central Staffing Scheme) of DoPT as Joint Commissioner in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan(KVS), Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India from August 29, 2024.
He then promoted as Additional Commissioner (Administration) and CVO(Chief Vigilance Officer) of KVS HQs, Ministry of Education Delhi on 23.6.2025. He is also ex-officio Secretary to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan(KVS). During 2024-26, he has facilitated two Cabinet approvals i.e. opening of 85 new Kendriya vidyalayas in December 2024 & opening of 57 new Kendriya vidyalayas in October 2025 across pan India.
Presently he is head of administrative wing of KVS and overseeing overall Administration, Establishment, Finance, Works, vigilance and Personnel matters of 60,000 teaching and non-teaching staffs.
Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India through Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT)/Niti Ayog has appointed him as Central Prabhari Officer (CPO) of Peelu block under Tonk district Rajasthan on October 2025 under Aspirational block/district program (ABP/ADP) of Niti Ayog as additional charge. He is overall incharge for development of backward district of Tonk Rajasthan and directly report to Niti Ayog Government of India.
